Dear Sancta Marians,

As we step into the vibrant month of September, let me begin by wishing everyone a joyous season of festivals—be it Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, or any celebration that fills your home with happiness and togetherness. May these festivities bring us all renewed energy and a sense of community.

Reflecting on August, we have so much to celebrate! From the incredible performances at the Humanities Fest, Cosplays, Cultural Diversity Showcase, and Scientifique, your dedication, talent, and hard work continue to make us proud.

Your efforts, whether in competitions, leadership roles, or community initiatives, have been nothing short of remarkable. Each success reflects your commitment to excellence. Let’s continue to build on this momentum as we journey through September.

Also, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to all parents who participated in our parent survey and for providing such insightful feedback. Your perspectives are invaluable in helping us enhance the quality of education and support we offer to our students.

We have carefully reviewed all your responses and identified a few key areas for improvement for this year. I want to assure you that we take your feedback seriously and are committed to making meaningful changes as an ongoing process. In the Spotlight

ISP Future Pathways Festival

With over 100 prestigious universities from around the world, our students and parents explored diverse academic opportunities and connected with leading institutions. The energy was electric as students engaged with university representatives, envisioning a vibrant and promising future. It was an inspiring day of discovery and planning for what’s ahead!

Independence Day

On August 15th, we celebrated the spirit of freedom and unity that lives in every Marian’s heart. Together, we reflected on our shared values, rejoiced in our nation’s achievements, and renewed our commitment to the freedom that binds us all. Proud to be Marians, proud to be free!

Leadership Workshop

Our student leaders attended an intensive Leadership Workshop with Mr. Pramod, where they honed their decision-making, collaboration, and leadership skills through motivational exercises and hands-on learning. At Sancta Maria, we nurture confident and empathetic leaders ready to make a positive impact on the world!

Happenings in the School

The Hope and Help Initiative

Grade 10 students Aahana, Akshay, and Anannya successfully led The Hope and Help Initiative, a donation drive that promoted upcycling and recycling. Partnering with NGO Goonj, they collected and upcycled clothing, books, and supplies to support those in need.

SMISMUN 2024

The 5th edition of SMISMUN 2024 saw over 400 delegates from 20 schools engaging in “Global Issues and Local Solutions.” Inaugurated by renowned cinematographer Mr. K.K. Senthil Kumar, the event thrived with inspiring debates and groundbreaking ideas under Secretary-General Arianna.

Field Trip to Golconda Fort

Our middle schoolers had an unforgettable trip to Golconda Fort, exploring its historic ruins and scaling its heights. Their enthusiasm and teamwork made for a day of discovery and memorable learning!

Janmashtami Celebrations

Our little ones had a joyful Janmashtami celebration, dressed as Radha and Krishna, filled with music, dance, and the exciting matka-cracking event. Their vibrant costumes and festive spirit made for a day of laughter and celebration!

Monalisha Sahoo

FLE Teacher

I am thrilled to be part of this incredible journey at Sancta Maria with such amazing learners. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, and I feel truly alive by embracing the joy of being childlike. My passion for literature has shaped my path—I hold both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in English literature, and nothing delights me more than reading between the lines.

I love experimenting with teaching practices that engage learners and help them understand concepts by applying them in their day-to-day lives. Seeing them enjoy these practices and integrate what they have learned into their world is incredibly rewarding. To me, books and imagination are the keys to travelling the world without ever leaving your seat.

I firmly believe in the wisdom of James Truslow Adams: “There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, that it ill behoves any of us to find fault with the rest of us.” My goal as an educator is to help learners understand this profound truth. I believe that the future of our country lies in the hands of all our learners, and my greatest wish is to nurture them into compassionate and passionate individuals.
