Sancta Maria International School Hyderabad

September Month

Principal - Ms Hema Sanjay

Dear Sancta Marians,

As we step into the vibrant month of September, let me begin by wishing everyone a joyous season of festivals—be it Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, or any celebration that fills your home with happiness and togetherness. May these festivities bring us all renewed energy and a sense of community.

Reflecting on August, we have so much to celebrate! From the incredible performances at the Humanities Fest, Cosplays, Cultural Diversity Showcase, and Scientifique, your dedication, talent, and hard work continue to make us proud.

Your efforts, whether in competitions, leadership roles, or community initiatives, have been nothing short of remarkable. Each success reflects your commitment to excellence. Let’s continue to build on this momentum as we journey through September.

Also, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to all parents who participated in our parent survey and for providing such insightful feedback. Your perspectives are invaluable in helping us enhance the quality of education and support we offer to our students.

We have carefully reviewed all your responses and identified a few key areas for improvement for this year. I want to assure you that we take your feedback seriously and are committed to making meaningful changes as an ongoing process. We will keep you updated on the progress being made through our future updates and communications.

In closing, I want to say this month holds even more opportunities for growth and learning—let’s embrace them and make it another memorable chapter in our story of excellence.

With pride and anticipation,
Hema Sanjay

I am thrilled to be part of this incredible journey at Sancta Maria with such amazing learners. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, and I feel truly alive by embracing the joy of being childlike. My passion for literature has shaped my path—I hold both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in English literature, and nothing delights me more than reading between the lines.

I love experimenting with teaching practices that engage learners and help them understand concepts by applying them in their day-to-day lives. Seeing them enjoy these practices and integrate what they have learned into their world is incredibly rewarding. To me, books and imagination are the keys to travelling the world without ever leaving your seat.

I firmly believe in the wisdom of James Truslow Adams: “There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, that it ill behoves any of us to find fault with the rest of us.” My goal as an educator is to help learners understand this profound truth. I believe that the future of our country lies in the hands of all our learners, and my greatest wish is to nurture them into compassionate and passionate individuals.

Safeguarding

Dear Parents/Carers/Guardians,

We would like to take a moment to discuss two essential pillars that guide our educational philosophy: safeguarding and integrity. These principles are not just part of our school’s framework but are vital in nurturing our students to become responsible and conscientious global citizens.

Safeguarding: Our commitment to a safe learning environment
Safeguarding is at the heart of our school’s mission. It is our commitment to ensure that every child feels safe, respected, and valued. This responsibility extends beyond physical safety to include emotional and mental well-being. Our dedicated staff is trained to recognize and address any signs of distress, and we work closely with students to foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.

We also encourage open communication between parents, students, and teachers. If there are any concerns, we are here to listen and act. Together, we can create an environment where our children can thrive, both academically and personally.

Integrity: Building a foundation for global citizenship
Integrity is more than just honesty; it’s about doing the right thing even when no one is watching. In today’s interconnected world, our students must understand the importance of integrity in all aspects of their lives. Whether it’s academic work, social interactions, or digital conduct, we emphasize the value of making ethical decisions. The sense of responsibility contributes to a safe and inclusive environment where all students can thrive, free from harm or discrimination. Such environments are crucial for safeguarding, as they reduce the risk of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment.
Fostering global citizenship
Integrity is a cornerstone of global citizenship. By nurturing students’ ethical development, our school prepares them to engage with the world responsibly, respecting different cultures, perspectives, and human rights. Safeguarding, as an expression of care and protection for all students, reinforces these values, teaching children that everyone has a role in creating a just and equitable society.
Connecting safeguarding and integrity
Safeguarding and integrity are deeply intertwined. A safe environment allows students to express themselves freely, while integrity ensures they do so with respect and responsibility. When our students feel secure, they are more likely to develop the confidence to act with integrity, making decisions that reflect their values and the greater good.
As parents, you play a critical role in reinforcing these values at home. By modeling integrity in your daily lives and discussing its importance, you help solidify these lessons for your children. Together, we can guide them to become not just successful students, but ethical leaders and compassionate global citizens.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support in making our school a place where every child can grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
